The Production Supervisor ensures plant production proceeds smoothly and efficiently on the 3rd shift, meeting all safety, quality, and timeliness standards. The Supervisor will be leading a team of 30+ highly skilled individuals in a 24x7 operation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience in supervisory/managerial positions in a manufacturing environment, working with state-of-the-art CNC machinery and preferably, SAP ERP software. The 3rd shift runs 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM. This full-time leadership position offers an excellent benefits package. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity with a global manufacturer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Interview, select, train and develop team of motivated employees in conjunction with associated managers
Assist with the development and formulation of long- and short-range plans, policies, programs, operating procedures and objectives
Maintain close surveillance over operations through perusal of reports, staff meetings, observation and personal contact to assure coordination and integration of workflow, timely production, budgetary conformance, schedules, and utilization of personnel, skills, machines, equipment and facilities
Promote a safe work environment and continuously educate on safe work practices in all areas
Manage and support all Safety, Environmental, & 5S continuous improvement efforts through mentoring and education
Assist, advice and otherwise expedite manufacturing and related problems by utilizing staff services to resolve and implement corrective procedures
Participate and give input on major projects, including acquisition and installation of capital equipment, major repairs and overhauls, plant layout changes
Supervise and coordinate the various programs essential to manufacturing procedures, such as training, safety, housekeeping, work simplification, cost reduction, plant protection and security
Supervise the preparation of reports for management information
Position Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management, Engineering, or Business Administration and five years in supervisory and managerial positions in a manufacturing environment;
OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of five years experience related to Machining and/or Polymer Injection Molding
Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and group presentation skills
Excellent computer skills including at least intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and heavy use of Excel), and prior ERP system experience (SAP Preferred)
