Accurate Personnel is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer for our client in a position available near North Fort Lauderdale, FL. This is a direct-hire full-time position with benefits.
Purpose of the position:
Provide quality assurance support to production, and supply chain processes to ensure the outputs meet all customer requirements
Responsible for further development of the supplier qualification and evaluation/audit process
Work directly with suppliers via supply chain and purchasing
Duties Cover 3 Main Areas of Responsibility:
Supplier side
Work closely with purchasing and suppliers to further develop existing suppliers
Seek and evaluate new supplier options. This may include supplier audits/visits, issuing and reviewing Corrective Actions related to quality performance
Review incoming materials for conformance with raw material specifications. Act as MRB for supplier-related dispositions
Internal side
Research and write procedures for the Quality Assurance Department
Use methodologies of problem-solving (8D, DMAIC, root cause analysis, etc.) to resolve issues related to product or process quality
Control non-conforming materials and responds quickly to root cause orders on hold
Identify and execute quality improvements in the manufacturing space, utilizing new technologies, methods, and equipment
Confer with engineering, production, methods, or any other required parties on quality problems and recommend solutions
Upholds the requirements of ISO 9001:2015; involved with both internal and external audits from an ISO registrar or customer
Recommend new methods / instrumentation / equipment for use in quality assessment of manufactured articles
Ability to support quality production of any/all product line(s) including valve assembly and/or failures that may occur
Customer side
Support incoming orders with special customer requirements through leading activities between customer service, production planning, and purchasing
Create and lead cross-functional teams in quality investigation, root cause analysis, and development of action plans to resolve quality issues. Ability to communicate issues clearly and concisely with customers, including responding to Corrective Action Requests
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in quality engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent
Minimum five years’ experience in quality manufacturing
Minimum one-year experience with SAP
Proficient in the programming of CMM’s and able to train others to both operate or create new programs
Experience executing projects, start to finish
Be a Leader - Must have the ability to proactively act when issues arise. The individual will be expected to lead Material Review Board meetings and/or Correction Action meetings
Experience utilizing methodologies of problem-solving processes (e.g. 8D process, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis) in quality resolution activities. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully
