This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, load, unload, and stack materials and products within a warehouse, construction site, or other industrial environment. Pay, Schedule, and Location
- Starting at $20/hour, paid weekly
- 1st shift: 10 am - 6:30 pm
- Location in Melrose Park, IL
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials, including boxes, pallets, and other items
- Assisting with inventory control by moving materials to designated storage areas, and potentially participating in inventory counts
- Selecting items from storage locations based on pick tickets or other instructions
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks, trailers, and other vehicles
- Performing routine maintenance tasks on the forklift, such as checking fluid levels, and reporting any malfunctions
Requirements and Qualifications
- Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures related to forklift operation and material handling
- Must be able to pass E-Verify
- Completing necessary paperwork, such as pre-shift checklists, and reporting any incidents or issues
- Valid forklift operator certification or license
- Ability to lift and move materials, often weighing up to 50 pounds, and to maneuver the forklift safely
- Ensuring accuracy in inventory management and material handling
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members
- Ability to understand spatial relationships and navigate the forklift safely in various environments
- Perform basic calculations related to weight, height, and distance
