HIRING IMMEDIATELY: IMPORT OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE IN ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL
Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for an Import Operations Associate to join our client in Elk Grove Village, IL! This role is ideal for candidates experienced in managing international shipments, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with import regulations.
Pay, Schedule, and Location:
- Pay Rate: $20/hour, paid weekly
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate shipment logistics including booking cargo, arranging transportation, and monitoring status for timely delivery.
- Prepare and review shipping documents, such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal import regulations, including obtaining necessary licenses and permits.
- Communicate and collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
- Investigate and resolve shipment issues, including delays, damages, or customs clearance problems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all import transactions.
- Provide reports and updates to stakeholders regarding shipment status and performance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to optimize import operations and cost-efficiency.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and INCOTERMS.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and record-keeping.
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency with logistics software, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and shipment tracking tools.
- Previous experience in logistics, import operations, or supply chain management preferred.
