Job Title: Mill Production Supervisor II
Location: Lakeland, FL
Department: Mill Operations
Reports to: Mill Manager / Operations Manager
Job Type: Full-Time | Days: 6:30AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday (some Saturdays)
Position Summary:
The Mill Production Supervisor II plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily operations in a high-volume lumber remanufacturing and pallet production facility. This position focuses on managing personnel, maintaining equipment, ensuring safety, and optimizing productivity through hands-on supervision and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate mill production operations, including scheduling labor, production flow, and routine maintenance.
  • Operate and monitor heavy production equipment, including Scragg and Edger machinery.
  • Ensure all work areas are clean, safe, and organized, maintaining compliance with company safety policies.
  • Take and follow through on direction, maintaining clear documentation and production notes as needed.
  • Build and develop a strong, cohesive production team from the ground up.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve production efficiency.
  • Maintain clear communication with staff and leadership regarding production status and team needs.
  • Lead by example—be dependable, motivated, and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and follow safety protocols and procedures.
  • Be physically capable of lifting between 15 to 45 lbs and work a minimum of 8 hours daily, with flexibility for overtime.
  • Monitor production quality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely fulfillment of production goals.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in lumber manufacturing, remanufacturing, and pallet production is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a mill or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience operating heavy machinery including Scragg and Edger equipment.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Reliable, organized, and committed to excellence in safety, productivity, and team success.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
