This individual will be responsible for providing managerial and operational support to the Distribution Center Manager by overseeing and managing the day-to-day activities of the entire distribution center. Pay, Schedule, Location
  • Ranging from $67,000 - $71,000/year 
  • Excellent benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k)
  • 1st shift available (weekend availability and schedule flexibility is required)
  • Located in Bloomfield, CT
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Managing and coordinating all operational activities, processes, and procedures
  • Establishing operational procedures for the verification of shipments, handling and disposition of products, and maintenance of inventories
  • Coordinating Distribution Center activities with the transportation company to ensure on-time deliveries to all stores
  • Managing processes for system and records control, and ensuring timely resolution of all client issues (customer service)
  • Assisting with the reclamation of damaged merchandise and the proper reporting of all donations
  • Managing all aspects of employee safety and general training
  • Ensuring that all state, federal, and OSHA regulations pertaining to the warehouse are followed
  • Managing and implementing department standards as approved by the Distribution Center Manager
  • Assigning duties to managers, supervisors, and all other warehouse associates
  • Overseeing warehouse schedules to ensure proper staffing levels across all shifts
  • Managing the performance review process to meet HR and corporate guidelines
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High level of computer and WMS system literacy
  • Must have experience in grocery, perishable, refrigerated food storage, supply chain management, or transport
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in warehouse management with college-level training
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office and Excel
  • Experience with WMS or MRP software related to load processing, quote requests, shipment tracking, etc
  • Understanding of DOT rules and regulations, vehicle weight capacity, and load specifications
  • Experience with TruckMate, PC Miler, Fleetmatics, RoadNet, or other SaaS fleet management systems
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a self-initiator who can implement and manage all operational programs
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of management and lead a diverse workforce
  • Ability to make independent decisions, solve problems with no directions, and draw conclusions from facts and evidence
  • Ability to work in a Distribution Center environment with a variation of temperatures
  • Must be able to work standing up or sitting down for long periods of time
  • Physical demands include lifting up to 30 lbs, standing for long periods, climbing stairs, and plenty of walking
