HIRING IMMEDIATELY: PUNCH PRESS SETUP OPERATOR IN CARPENTERSVILLE, IL
Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Punch Press Setup Operator to join our client in Carpentersville, IL. This individual will be responsible for notify the supervisor regarding the necessity of reconditioning or sharpening dies, difficulties with parts, or inoperable equipment. Pay, Schedule, and Location
- Starting at $17- $18/hour, paid weekly
- 6 am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday (some weekends if needed)
- Location in Carpentersville, IL
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and make required set-ups on presses performing a limited variety of component operations, setting dies, adjusting stroke, greasing leader pins, attaching and adjusting safety equipment, work with parts similar in nature, but varying in size or detail
- Obtain first piece inspection release, check work during run for dimensions, burrs, broken punches, cracking or buckling, and visually inspect components for obvious damage or defects
- Work from drawings, shop orders, and samples
- Use a variety of measuring equipment
- Instruct operator as to special job conditions or safety precautions
- Notify the supervisor regarding the necessity of reconditioning or sharpening dies, difficulties with parts, or inoperable equipment
- Move material, parts, dies, and containers, using a hand truck, segregate and remove scrap
- Follow prescribed safety practices including the use of all safety equipment
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma; degree in a technical, engineering, or relevant field will be an advantage
- Proven experience as a Punch press set-up or similar role (1-2 years)
- Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
- Attention to detail
- Ability to print reading
- Knowledge of measuring tools
- Able to lift 50 lbs frequently
- Able to sit, walk, or stand up for lengths of time
