HIRING IMMEDIATELY: TOOL AND DIE MAKER IN LAKE ZURICH, IL

Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Tool and Die Maker to join our client in Lake Zurich, IL. This individual will be responsible for verifying dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and dial indicators. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to use lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill machines, gauge blocks, dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers, as well as experience in a manufacturing environment. Pay, Schedule, and Location

  • Starting at $29 to $38/hour, paid weekly

  • Excellent benefits package: Medical, Dental, and Vision

  • 1st shift schedule: 6 am to 3:30 pm

  • Located in Lake Zurich, IL

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and dial indicators.

  • Select or recommend metals and alloys to be used for tooling based on hardness and heat tolerance.

  • Set up and operate conventional machine tools such as drill presses, lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to described dimensions and finishes.

  • Study blueprints, sketches, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.

  • Inspect finished dies for smoothness, finish, contour conformity, and defects.

  • Machine and assemble progressive and multi-slide dies.

  • Conduct test runs with completed tooling or dies to ensure that production parts will meet specifications.

  • Fit and assemble parts to make repairs or modify dies.

  • Think outside the box in continuous improvement ideas as well as problem solving.

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines.

  • Maintain the department/ work area clean and organized.

  • Follow ISO/IATF, safety, and environmental procedures as well as department and corporate policies and procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing a press fit, slip fit, and tolerance.

  • Ability to use lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill machines, gauge blocks, dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers.

  • Experience working with a broad range of materials including tool steel, Teflon, aluminum, etc.

  • Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to read and understand instructions.

  • Ability to use lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill machines, gauge blocks, dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers.

  • An understanding of the impacts of heat treatment before grinding.

  • Ability to apply basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience fabricating dies for automated or other related equipment.

  • Precision measuring instruments and tooling equipment.

  • Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs are required at all times
