Facilities Operations Manager
Location: Largo, FL
Base Salary: $110,000–$150,000+ DOE
Schedule: On-site, Monday–Friday
We're hiring a Facilities Operations Manager to lead the launch of a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in FL. This is a ground-up role—taking an empty building and turning it into a fully operational, small-batch production plant. You'll be responsible for facility layout, equipment selection and installation, workflow development, and operational readiness. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, hands-on environments and is excited about combining traditional manufacturing with modern technologies like AI, robotics, and MES platforms.

Preferred Background
  • Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 7–15+ years of experience in small-to-mid-size manufacturing environments
  • Proven track record in CNC operations, grinding, CAM/CAD software, dust/HVAC systems, and tooling
  • Direct experience with SOP and QA documentation, MES platforms (e.g., Tulip), and facility operations
  • Bonus if familiar with knife/tool manufacturing, DLC/Cerakote coating, or starting up new production facilities
Key Responsibilities
Phase 1: Facility Setup
  • Design and implement an optimized floor layout (CNC, grinding, sharpening, QA, assembly, packaging)
  • Source and manage install of equipment and utilities (CNC machines, dust collection, lighting, Wi-Fi, air, etc.)
  • Establish vendor relationships for materials, coatings, and outsourced processes
  • Coordinate installation of benches, shelving, tools, and packaging stations
  • Develop production flow in collaboration with design and engineering teams
Phase 2: Workflow Development & Production Launch
  • Build and test small-batch production flows and fixtures
  • Translate CAD files into CAM programs and build out SOPs/QA protocols
  • Execute trial runs and optimize equipment/tooling for scale
Ongoing Operations Leadership
  • Develop and execute a hiring roadmap (operators, QA techs, support staff)
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, cleanliness, ergonomics, and efficiency
  • Work with Finance on CapEx, R&D incentives, and cost tracking
  • Provide weekly updates to executive leadership on metrics, performance, and team development
  • Maintain daily presence on the shop floor—lead by example
Compensation & Perks
  • Base Salary: $110,000–$150,000+ (commensurate with experience, with potential flexibility)
  • Bonuses: Performance-based bonus and profit-sharing opportunities
