HIRING IMMEDIATELY: LOGISTICS TEMPORARY ASSOCIATE IN ELGIN, IL
Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Logistics Temporary Associate to join our client in Elgin, IL. This individual will be responsible for assisting in processing, tracking, and resolving cargo claims in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in freight, logistics or shipping handling.
Pay, Schedule, Location
- Starting at $20/hour, paid weekly
- Part-Time: 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday
- Located in Elk Grove Village, IL
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and acknowledge incoming cargo claims from customers, carriers, and internal teams
- Review shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading, proof of delivery, photos, inspection reports) to validate claims
- Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal departments to gather required documentation and information
- Assist in determining claim liability based on documentation and company policies
- Enter claim details into the claim management system and update records as needed
- Monitor the status of open claims and follow up to ensure timely resolution
- Help prepare claim summaries, reports, and correspondence
- Maintain organized electronic and paper claim files
- Assist with general administrative tasks as needed
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
- Previous experience in logistics, freight, shipping, or claims handling is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Office environment, in the office 3 days a week
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of cargo claim procedures or freight documentation is a plus
- Standard business hours, with possible flexibility depending on workload
