A Day in the Life of Vanessa Santoscoy: Staffing Star, Soccer Mom, & Savvy Strategist
Meet Vanessa Santoscoy, recruiting ace, staffing extraordinaire, and Senior Account Manager at Accurate Personnel - Ontario. Vanessa is a leading contributor for the AP team, filling key high-volume orders for one of our largest clients since she joined the team back in 2015.
As each new day begins, Vanessa heads into the office with a grin and a hardy “GOOD MORNING!” for her partner-in-placement, Ontario Branch Manager Diana Sanchez. Together, they lead Accurate’s West Coast efforts and make the magic happen in a unique market for staffing.
First order of business? Setting up shop and firing up that oh-so-crucial coffee machine. Vanessa always makes sure to begin the business end of her day by reviewing emails that came in during the early morning hours, as well as listening to voicemails and ensuring that all systems are ready to go for the California-based team.
Being one of Accurate’s only locations based in the western United States, Vanessa, and her team have mastered the art of careful planning to ensure smooth operations at all times. With close to a decade passed since she first began working with Accurate, Vanessa is a pro’s pro and knows exactly what it takes to earn the trust of major clients in the industry, and her region.
Flashback to 2015, during her first year with AP, Vanessa burst onto the scene by earning the coveted title of On-Site Coordinator of the Year. “I was shocked and grateful,” says Santoscoy.
“Vanessa is a great recruiter,” adds Sanchez. “She has built a good relationship with all of our clients. She has great customer service, which makes employees refer their friends and family to us and makes recruiting for one of our biggest clients smoother.”
To make it happen, Vanessa takes pride in maintaining a well-organized workspace. “I like to keep our office clean and organized,” says Santoscoy. “I feel by doing so it’s easier to get by the day … I like to have my desk clean and paper free.”
However, there is one exception to the rule. “Recently I gave her a picture of one of her favorite singers,” says Sanchez [Editor’s Note: Mario Quintero of Los Tucanes de Tijuana]. “She posted that in between her 2 monitors. She said ‘This is my daily inspiration’ besides her family pictures of course.”
With Mario guiding the way, Vanessa finishes her day's work and heads home to help with her son’s soccer club. She serves as Team Mom, using her exceptional organization skills to coordinate with league organizers and all of the players/parents on the squad to make sure they are set up for success.
Once victory is ensured on the pitch, it is dinner time. Santoscoy is an excellent cook, regularly offering to provide lunch for her team at Accurate. What do her coworkers consider her best dish? Her famous green chicken pozole!
All in all, Vanessa’s superpower is bringing people together and fostering collaboration among her colleagues. With open lines of communication and a heart as big as the moon, she's the glue that holds the team together, ensuring that everyone feels valued and supported.
