Job Title: Mixing Center Manager
Reports to: Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Note: This operation runs 24/7, and individual schedules are determined by volume and client needs. Weekend availability is required and the facility is only closed three days each year.
Job Purpose:
The Mixing Center Manager provides functional guidance to employees in planning and supporting Mixing Center operations. This role tracks inbound orders, establishes day-to-day plans for associates, oversees capacity needs, and ensures operations comply with applicable food safety regulations and company policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage all schedules related to Mixing Center warehouse operations, supporting inbound and outbound perishable food shipments.
  • Monitor loads to ensure proper door assignments and optimize inbound delivery plans for efficiency and load utilization.
  • Implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); train employees and ensure compliance.
  • Track inbound/outbound orders, carrier performance, service KPIs, and update systems per SOPs.
  • Conduct staff performance evaluations, manage daily operations, and organize planning meetings.
  • Address exceptions, resolve issues, and maintain service expectations in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Flexible work schedule including off-hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to manage a diverse workforce; bilingual a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Minimum 2 years in a warehouse management role or related field (grocery/perishable food experience preferred).
  • At least 5 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • At least 2 years of warehouse operations experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and traverse all areas of a warehouse.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures within a distribution center.
