Position: Machine Operator/Mechanic
Location: Itasca, IL
Pay: $20.00/hour (based on experience)
Shift: Monday - Friday, 5:00 am - 1:30 pm
Plus: $3,000 Sign-on Bonus (payable in 3 installments, with an initial $1,000 upon hire)
Summary:
As a Machine Operator/Mechanic, you will be the backbone of our production process, responsible for the setup, operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment. Your role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and safe production of high-quality materials for commercial construction applications.
Core Responsibilities:
Set up and operate various in-lined equipment for cold heading, pointing, and thread-rolling of fasteners.
Perform preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Conduct quality checks in adherence to specification sheets and document results.
Champion safety practices, identify hazards, and promote a secure working environment.
Maintain housekeeping standards and participate in 5-S activities and improvements.
Collaborate with team members, attending team events and meetings.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
Minimum one year of experience in high-volume manufacturing
Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in handling hand tools (e.g., wrenches).
Ability to read blueprints/specification sheets and follow instructions.
Willingness to work assigned shifts with occasional mandatory overtime, including weekends.
Capacity to recognize and identify parts, problems, and provide resolutions.
Team player with reliable transportation for travel between Roselle and Itasca.
Successful completion of on-the-job training (blueprint reading and measurement tools).
General housekeeping duties and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to grip, grasp, reach, push, and pull with hands and arms.
Mobility to walk, stand, climb, kneel, bend, and sit.
Capability to mount and dismount power industrial vehicles.
Vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
