Pay, Available Schedules, and Location
- Starting at $19/hour, paid weekly
- 1st shift: 3 am - 10:30 am, Sunday - Thursday
- 2nd shift: 3 pm - 10:30 pm, Sunday - Thursday
- Located in Mokena, IL
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote and enforce cleanliness and safe working conditions among staff
- Identify, document, and implement corrective actions to address quality issues
- Lead safety training programs for employees to minimize risks related to food safety and workplace hazards
- Maintain detailed documentation for audits, inspections, and compliance
- Collect and analyze samples regularly for shelf life and quality assessments
- Collaborate with the Quality Control Supervisor on product specifications and production issues
- Report production bottlenecks and quality concerns to management
- Conduct calibration of measurement and testing equipment and perform internal audits professionally
- Mentor and guide team members to uphold quality standards
- Verify the proper functioning of measuring instruments and coordinate repairs when necessary
- Approve finished products for shipment, ensuring compliance with quality standards
- Coordinate with government agencies during inspections to ensure compliance
- Monitor raw materials to prevent the use of expired or substandard ingredients
- Review and update quality control policies and procedures
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints and feedback
- Remove defective products during production to prevent customer issues
- Oversee all stages of production to identify and prevent defects
- Prepare and submit reports on quality metrics, inspections, and audits
- Record test results accurately and analyze data to improve processes
- Recommend modifications to production standards within equipment capabilities
- Work closely with management and production teams to ensure quality product output
- Collaborate under supervision with the QC team to maintain high standards
- Maintain high attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality control
- Ensure measuring and testing equipment are calibrated and function properly
Requirements and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality methodologies
- Experience with statistical techniques and quality tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and record-keeping
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of teaching and explaining procedures
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, verbal, or visual formats
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of measurement and testing equipment calibration
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., BRC, SQF) and legislation
- Ability to analyze data and recommend process improvements
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Basic mathematical and statistical knowledge relevant to quality control
- Experience in conducting internal audits and calibrations
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods as required
- Capable of lifting, bending, and reaching for equipment or materials
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with precision
- Maintain focus and a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and responsibility
