Yard Manager - (IND)

Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Yard Manager to join our client in Lafayette, IN. This individual will be responsible for leading a team in the high-volume environment of an OEM yard operation. Responsible for general operation, safety processes, personnel management and coaching, and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will possess experience managing a yard operation and movement of trailers in a facility with 1200 + trailer capacity. Apply online and kick start your career today!

  • Monday through Friday, Full time schedule

  • Located in Lafayette, IN

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage/ Report out on weekly/monthly KPI's

  • Monitor/ Audit daily operations; identify areas for continuous improvement opportunities

  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations; including oversight of the company's safety programs and employee safety training

  • Understand to participate in 3PL operations discussions as it relates to the Yard processes

  • Complete customer directed tasks such as inventory audits, cycle counts, and trailer counts

  • Understand technology systems as it relates to track and trace, interpreting historical data, and identify continuous improvement efforts

  • Open communication with co-workers, subordinates, and leaders within the organization to work through issues as they arise

  • Responsible for the entirety of the operation, 24 hours a day, 5 days a week

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in logistics and supply chain management

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in employee management

  • Must exhibit the ability to set goals, prioritize, plan, organize and manage projects from contemplation to completion

  • Must exhibit the ability to work within budgets as well as innovate and plan to cut unnecessary costs

  • Must exhibit the ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing

  • Must exhibit the ability to manage and train employees and temporary workers
