Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Status: Full-Time
Shift: 2nd Shift (2:30 PM – Midnight)
Pay Range: $28.00–$35.00/hr
Sign-On Bonus: $2,000 after successful completion of the first 90 days
Job Summary:
The PM Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of industrial food processing equipment. This includes troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure equipment remains in proper working condition and production downtime is minimized. This role supports plant safety, food quality, and productivity goals through routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and rapid response to equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on production equipment (e.g., grinders, mixers, slicers, ovens, packaging machinery, etc.).
- Conduct daily inspections and complete documentation by established deadlines.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic electrical repairs including AC/DC motor controls, solid-state controls, and interpreting electrical schematics.
- Develop and follow a preventative maintenance schedule to support equipment reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory.
- Perform mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs.
- Recommend layout adjustments and equipment improvements to increase efficiency.
- Support company goals in safety, product quality, and production performance.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience or 2 years of technical training.
- High school diploma/GED required; technical school coursework or certification preferred.
- Experience with high-speed processing, packaging, weighing, or inspection equipment is a plus.
- Basic English language skills (read, write, speak).
- Proficiency in using maintenance management systems and reading schematics/manuals.
- Strong team collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders or platforms, and in cold/wet or hot environments.
- Operation of hand and power tools, and light motorized equipment required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in food processing or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and use a multimeter and measurement instruments.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
