Position: Maintenance Mechanic - Food Manufacturing
Shift: 2:30pm to 12:30AM - Monday to Friday - (10hr Shifts)
Compensation: $28.00 - $35.00hr + $2,000.00 Bonus after 90 Days

Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic for our client in Carol Stream, IL. This is a growing food manufacturing company that is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support production by maintaining and repairing food processing equipment including grinders, mixers, slicers, ovens, and wrapping machines.Please see below additional information for consideration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspections, emergency repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical (AC/DC motors, motor controls), mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Maintain detailed documentation of inspections and repairs
- Assist in equipment layout improvements and recommend efficiency upgrades
- Ensure parts inventory is stocked for timely repairs
- Use computerized maintenance systems for tracking work and inventory
- Adhere to productivity, food safety, quality, and cost-efficiency goals
- Support cross-training and teamwork within the department
- Climb ladders/stairs and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2–5 years' experience in food/industrial equipment maintenance or technical training
- High school diploma/GED or mechanical certification
- Ability to read schematics, manuals, and perform technical calculations
- Proficient in English (verbal & written)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Comfortable working in cold (34–36°F) or elevated/hot conditions
- Ability to use power tools, multimeters, and measurement devices
Preferred Skills:
- PLC troubleshooting - Highly desired / but not required
- Welding experience - Highly desired / but not required
- Food processing industry background - Highly desired / but not required
