Quality Control Supervisor

Reports to: Quality Control Manager

Lead Quality Excellence in a Fast-Paced Food Distribution Environment
We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Quality Control Supervisor to join our growing team at in Ruther Glen, VA Warehouse. If you’ve got at least one year of supervisory experience, a background in food production or food distribution, and HACCP certification, this is your chance to step into a leadership role where your expertise will directly impact product integrity, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.

What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day operations of the Quality Control Department across all shifts
- Assign tasks, schedule breaks and shifts, and foster a positive, high-performance team culture
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other regulatory standards
- Oversee product inspections, release programs, and incoming material evaluations
- Enforce GMPs and sanitation standards while promoting continuous improvement
- Monitor and support the HACCP program, including documentation and corrective actions
- Prepare quality reports, analyze trends, and respond to customer concerns and complaints
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and associates to uphold quality standards across departments
- Support internal audits, recalls, and re-validations with precision and urgency
What You Bring
- Minimum 1 year of lead or supervisory experience in a food production or food distribution environment
- HACCP certification required (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
- Strong working knowledge of SQF, GMPs, and food safety protocols
- High computer literacy, including Excel, MS Office, and GOLD system
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a diverse workforce
- Experience preparing reports, analyzing data, and resolving quality issues
- Flexible schedule and willingness to travel up to 25% to support business needs
Preferred Certifications (or willingness to obtain):
- Seafood HACCP
- Food Defense
- PCQI Certification
- SQF Practitioner
- Basics in Internal Auditing
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in varied temperature conditions
- Comfortable sitting at a computer for extended periods and navigating warehouse environments
