Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Sewing Machine Operator to join our team in Olive Branch, MS. This individual will be responsible for starting sewing machinery at the beginning of each shift and testing for functionality, as well as ensuring all materials and parts are gathered prior to beginning work. Pay, Schedule, and Location
- Starting at $15/hour, paid weekly
- Excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision
- Monday-Friday, 3:30 pm to 12 am or 7 am to 3:30 pm
- Located in Olive Branch, MS
Duties and Responsibilities
- Start sewing machinery at the beginning of each shift and test for functionality
- Ensure all materials and parts are gathered prior to beginning work
- Address any issues found during the sewing process
- Draw threads through needles and adjust the machine as necessary
- Position materials under needles to sew them together
- Replace and rethread needles as needed
- Sew missing stitches or replace parts according to repair instructions
- Observe operations to detect faults or defects
- Notify supervisors of any problems or discrepancies
- Trim finished products using scissors and cutters
- Perform preventative maintenance, such as cleaning and oiling the machine
- Complete other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
- 3-5 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read work orders, patterns, and follow instructions
- Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mandatory overtime
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Cooperative attitude when working with others in and outside the department
