HIRING IMMEDIATELY: SHIPPING AND RECEIVING SPECIALIST
This individual is responsible for shipping orders via trucks and parcel carriers, assisting with outbound LTL bookings, and ensuring receiving standards are met.

Pay, Schedule, Location
- Starting at $25/hour, paid weekly
- 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday (Some overtime on Saturday)
- Located in Huntley, IL
Responsibilities & Functions
- Accurately receive goods, ensuring quantity and quality meet standards.
- Communicate timely information to procurement, sales, customer service, and operations teams.
- Enter freight, pallet charges, packaging, and other accessorials into the ERP system as assigned.
- Coordinate deliveries with freight forwarders and trucking companies to provide timely service at competitive rates.
- Pick and pack orders as needed.
- Handle and resolve transportation issues and freight claims.
- Consider weather conditions for temperature-sensitive shipments.
- Learn and utilize logistics technology integrations, including WMS and shipping stations.
- Assist with local deliveries using company vehicles and ensure vehicles are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, HACCP, FTZ, and other relevant regulations.
- Supervise temporary staff in shipping and receiving.
- Complete projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of shipping and receiving experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
- Proficiency in inventory software, databases, and general computer applications.
- Current forklift certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
- Strong organization, self-management, and communication skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
- Able to perform heavy lifting and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Saturdays and extended hours during peak season may be required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and learn systems quickly.
Special Requirements
- Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and bending throughout the shift.
- Operate hand-held inventory devices, pallet jacks, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Supervision, safety management, process management, inventory control, reporting, and equipment maintenance.
General Work Requirements
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; push and pull heavy objects.
- Read and interpret sales orders, pick tickets, packaging, claims, and purchase orders.
- Basic math skills for conversions and calculations.
- Retain knowledge and follow verbal instructions.
- Work well with others and maintain composure under stress
