Pay, Schedule, and Location
- Starting at $26 to $28.50/hour, paid weekly
- Excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision
- 1st shift schedule:8 am to 5 pm
- Located in Glendale Heights, IL
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of air and ocean import/export logistics, from initial booking and documentation to final delivery.
- Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, such as shipment delays, customs complications, or carrier-related challenges
- Effectively onboard new clients, understanding their specific needs and providing a high level of customer service
- Utilize a deep understanding of industry language, regulations, and best practices to navigate complex international trade requirements.
- Prepare, review, and process all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, airway bills, commercial invoices, and more
- Coordinate and communicate with a network of carriers, truckers, and warehouses to optimize routes, negotiate rates, and track shipments.
- Act as a dedicated team player, providing assistance to and other team members as needed to support overall department goals.
- Must be proficient in CargoWise for all operational tasks, including data entry, booking management, shipment tracking, and reporting.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator, specifically with ocean and air freight, and import/export processes.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workload with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Proficiency in the CargoWise logistics software is mandatory.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- A strong sense of urgency and the ability to thrive under pressure.
- A "common sense" approach to tackling complex situations in the logistics industry.
